I am Pleased to meet you! I am Julie Dawson, a visual designer and illustrator who wears many hats. My friends and family would describe me as outgoing, independent, loyal, motivated, kind, caring, non-judgmental, fiercely determined, and someone they can count on in times of happiness and need. I believe in using technology and creativity to solve problems and create more inclusive designs. I currently live in Northern Kentucky in Latonia. It’s a little over two miles from the Ohio River and Cincinnati, Ohio. I am Pleased to meet you! I am Julie Dawson, a visual designer, and illustrator who wears many hats. I believe in using technology and creativity to solve problems and create more inclusive designs. I live in Northern Kentucky in Latonia, a little over two miles from the Ohio River and Cincinnati, Ohio. When finishing my degree at Savannah College of Art & Design, I discovered User Experience Design or design to create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users. When I took a User Interface Design course my senior year, I loved it. I found that I love working on finding solutions when a product or website does not function properly or frustrates users. It made me realize that being a part of creating a user-friendly experience is what I want to do. It was the only course of its kind at SCAD at the time. They added User Experience and User Interface design as a major the following quarter after I graduated. When I'm not busy working, you can usually find me on a dance floor, dancing to live music or figuring out what to do with all my hats; the two hat trees don't seem to be cutting it.
