Kara Walker is a contemporary Artist who confronts complex subjects such as race, gender, and sex. As the lead designer, I was to design a campaign for an exhibition at the SCAD Museum of Art including identity, graphics standards, exhibition, environmental graphics, literature, and packing, that must fit in the SCAD Museum of Art and be completed in four weeks. I began by photographing the exhibition areas of The SCAD Museum of Art and the city of Savannah to use for mockups, then I created the graphics and literature, lastly, I began setting up the packaging for the pamphlet and the gift shop item. I have always felt drawn to Kara Walker's work, and have a much higher appreciation for her work after this project. I ended up buying a Silhouette machine to make the precise cuts that the project required.
